Justification
A passion is not an undergone disturbance but an given to a false of what is good or bad, followed by an excessive impulse. Since assent is up to us, a passion is a correctable error: to aim at is therefore not to stifle a feeling but to rectify the judgment, a far sharper position than 's mere moderation.
