About
Philoscopia is an ambitious project: to map philosophy's great ideas so that anyone, whatever their philosophical background, can find their bearings, shape their own worldview and put it into practice. For those who want it, with the help of AI, not to spare us from thinking but to make it a tool that makes us think: an AI agent that helps us become the true agent, the actor of our own philosophy.
Why
Philosophy is not just knowledge to memorise, it is a way of leading one's life. In the spirit of ancient philosophy, Philoscopia would like us not to settle for learning the ideas of others, but to clarify, test and organise our own, all the way to putting them into practice. The atlas gives you the bearings; the path is yours to trace.
What we stand for
- Your data first. Your worldview is yours: your profile stays on your device, everything works offline, and the AI receives only the minimum. Privacy is a product argument, not a checkbox.
- AI, always optional. Nothing forces you to use it, Philoscopia works entirely without it. When you do call on it, it is designed to question you, never to dictate an answer.
- Open, validated content. The referential (axes, profiles, glossary…) is written, sourced and validated piece by piece, then published open source: anyone can read it, check it and propose improvements.
The content, and its openness
Philoscopia's encyclopedic layer is free. The referential is available on GitHub, and you can plug it into your own AI assistants through the open-source MCP. Content is produced with the help of AI, but always reviewed and validated.
