Create an account to keep your credits and unlock on all your devices, with no risk of losing them. Your profile itself (positions, notebook) stays on your device, with or without an account.
Credits & support
The encyclopedic content is free and open source. Running the servers has a cost, and the content is continuously enriched, corrected and improved: if Philoscopia is useful to you, a small contribution helps keep it going. Entirely optional — it unlocks nothing.
Your data
The local vault (a folder of your own), cross-device sync, an encrypted backup, and projection to your notes tools. Everything stays encrypted or on your device.
Your profile and notebook are continuously copied into a folder you own. It survives cleared browser data, and other tools can read it (Obsidian, Claude Desktop through the philoscopia-mcp server).
Pick a folder — empty, or an existing vault: its data is then merged into your current profile, nothing gets overwritten. Nothing leaves your device.
Sign in to enable sync across your devices.
Export
Import
Pick a file you exported. Its contents are merged into your current profile: nothing you already have is lost.
Mirror your written notes into your networked-thought tool: your profile stays on this device, the tool gets a readable, editable copy. More integrations to come (Notion…).
Obsidian and other markdown tools go through the local vault's mirror, above.
Roam Research
Beliefs, questions, practices and journal, mirrored into your graph under a Philoscopia/ namespace.
Connect your Roam graph with a backend API token.
Only your written notes are synced (beliefs, questions, concepts, practices, journal). Your answers and position history are not.
