Axis: Beauty — Is beauty in things themselves or in the eye of the beholder?
Beauty is not a property of the object, yet it is not a mere matter of personal taste either. When I call something beautiful, I voice a subjective pleasure while claiming that everyone ought to feel it too. The judgment of taste is subjective in its source, universal in its claim.
